It dramatically reveals the deep Rift Valley cutting through the entire country and the uplifted central mountain range which keep international highways (yellow) to surrounding plains. Blue arrow show the flow of trade. Green indicates areas where sufficient rainfall permits various types of farming. Strategic crossroads through the Northern Arena makes it one of the country's most disputed regions.
